BIO ROCKS 3E6
Hi, everyone!
*Have you ever wonder about "human cloning"?
*Maybe, if you've ever watched "The Island" movie- that tells about "human cloning".
*How do you think human can "be cloned"?
*Perhaps, the answer is their cells are copied to make another identical one of a gene, by using a biotechnology.
*Since, we are doing about cell structure, maybe you would like to know the relationship between "a cell cloning" and "cell structures".
*Notes:Please read from the FIRST SLIDE in " History of Cloning"
History of Cloning
Process of Cloning
Wanna try : An Experiment on Clonning, just go here "Click and Clone"
Hope they are useful.
I really appreciate if you would like to give comments and critics on my information. Thank you. :)

Hi, everyone!
*I have some information about the "process of cell division in animal celss"
*There are meiosis and mitosis. There are animated pictures.
Notes: Just move your mouse on the selected part of the diagram, to know more information about the different parts of the cell.

Ok guys sory for not blogging earlier, actually forgot about (sheesh) also had no time as I was out of time last week. Only manage to do my homework this week. Ok the first websites deals with the kid’s explanation about cells. thought that it would be cute you see
http://www.icnet.uk/kids/cellsrus/cellsrus.html
this is deals with the normal cells function that all of your have been finding for.

HELLO :)
( the picture is here so tt you would read my post and visit the website, I couldn't think of anything else. sorry.)
ok - this webpage is pretty good.
it has pictures - YAY!
and it is not too wordy - HIPHIPHORAY!
it also tells you whats the diff between a eukaryotic cell and a prokaryotic cell
sounds familiar huh :)
it needs flash though
http://bcs.whfreeman.com/thelifewire/content/chp04/0402001.html
something to note - after you select one of the things inside the cell and they show you a bigger picture, you can move your mouse over SOME of the labels and more info will come out.
not ALL the labels have extra info so just erm, try. eheh.
debs :)

Lots of last minute entries :) Anyway, most of you have done a Fantastic job in the Web search. Love those graphical details and some even have mini quiz. Most of the sites also provide the answers to the Pre-test questions. Good! Therefore, I am expecting this group of students to achieve A1 for the Post-test if you review all these sites conscientiously. Continue to work hard and play hard too :)

Hey people :)
Well i was juz surfin e net & found a few sites...
Tis site is one of em : http://sun.menloschool.org/~cweaver/cells/.
It's really simple to use...you juz gotta click one the labels of any one of the
organelles to find out more about it...There are sufficient pictures which are
very detailed...could be a lil wordy...but it's informative lah...do check out
the 'golgi apparatus' thingy...it appeared in the pre-test...then... hope you guyz
find tis site as useful as i did...
Enjoy the rest of yr hols...

HELLO BABES(:
been spending time on the computer.
im finally settling down to do this uh assignment.
hahah.
anyway, i managed to find this website.
well, its rather interesting and detailed.
its even in a course type, you know, its just like a lesson but on the web.
http://www.purchon.com/biology/cells.htm
YAY! have fun for the rest of the holidays!
<3 mark,
well, melodie :DD
hello people, got a few websites, which i found them rather useful :D most of them are pictorial, so make things rather easy to understand. hopefully they will come in useful (:
biology for kids
this site doesnt have many pictures, but has clear explanations
prok_euk
Some stuffs on prokaryotes and eukaryotes
johnkyrk
this site is rather interesting, with all their graphics and all (: One of my favourite sites (: however, if you want a very detailed report on all the different organelles, this might not be the site for you (:
yepyep, this is about it :D Enjoy your hols (:

Many constructive comments. Good job. Please view these sites diligently as there will be a post-test in July :)
However, some students still haven't log in to post their recommended site and comments. If possible, please remind these students.

hey pple,
yeah this site is kinda interesting( i hope). anyways it has almost all the stuff that came out for test here. it is not too bad because it does not have chunks of information and has a few animations. it is easier to understand. along the way while you are clicking the next button to move on, there might be some links to other stuff. do try to click on it and read more!!! have fun
http://personal.tmlp.com/Jimr57/textbook/chapter3/chapter3.htm

Hey people,
Yeah.. this website is really interesting ( hope so). anyways, it is really easy to read cos it is not like a whole chunk of words there. also there are animations.. there are almost all the stuff that came out from our test there.. so it is kinda good..keep clicking the next button and you can read everything. along the way there might be other hyperlinks, do click and read more about it.
20060607
Hey people! I wasn't sure what came out during the test but I hope this website that I found would help. It has the picture of a cross-section of a cell in the front page with boxes linked to each part. Click on the boxes to find out more about the different parts along with a close up pic. Hope you will enjoy this!
For animal cells: http://projects.edtech.sandi.net/miramesa/Organelles/animal.html
For plant cells: http://projects.edtech.sandi.net/miramesa/Organelles/plant.html
Oh, and please note that the parts of the plant cell that have appeared in the animal cell would not have links to them but the parts which are new or different rom the animal cell would have a link. Have fun and enjoy the rest of your holiday!
20060604
i found this website http://www.emc.maricopa.edu/faculty/farabee/BIOBK/BioBookCELL2.html
looks super cool, especially the enlarged picture of cell surface membrane and nuclear envelope. They make you start to know how amazing is God..
anyway, there are mostly pictures and very short descriptions of the different parts of the cells.
I guess somes of the answers of the test can be found here.. like the cilia and flagella picture.
[warning] if you are those theory theory type of people, don'y try to find detailed explanations of the diferent part of cells here.. Only people like me, whose eyes wil start to ached after using the computer for 10 minutes, and neck would ached after 30 minutes, will want to go to this website..
P.S. the structure of ribosome looks like playdoh.
BUT if you have a passion for words, go to
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/About/primer/genetics_cell.html
this website tells you about things like apoptosis, that amazed me
there is only 7 pictures in total in this website, so people who hate colours can come to this website.
have a blessed "holidays"!!!
Pretty puiwah
20060530
I found two websites on prokaryotes. http://web.mit.edu/esgbio/www/cb/prok_euk.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prokaryote
Prokaryotes are unicellular organisms that do not have a nucleus. I hope you will find this two websites useful! ( I think I saw something like this on the test!)

HEY GUYS.
this website's quite good, i find(:
http://waynesword.palomar.edu/lmexer1a.htm
check it out! (: it gives a very detailed picture of both the plant and animal cells in general and elaborate on their functions when you click on the organelles! (:

20060527
hey guys. hope u all will enjoy this websites!!!! Enjoy learning!:D
the first website would be on the cell structure a simpler version so that u can play with the animation and the second one would be a more detailed version.
http://www.tvdsb.on.ca/westmin/science/sbi3a1/Cells/cells.htm
http://micro.magnet.fsu.edu/cells/animalcell.html
and since i asked some people in the class and they did not know about this-stem cells.... so i researched on it.
http://stemcells.nih.gov/info/scireport/
this would too be on cells.....click on the different types of tutorials to find out more about the subject.
http://www.biology.arizona.edu/CELL_BIO/cell_bio.html
this is another website that is on cells about
Prokaryotes and Eukaryotes. You can play around with the animation.
http://www.sp.uconn.edu/~bi107vc/fa02/terry/cells.html
hope it is not too many.... really was too much... i didn't know which one...

Hi people, I couldn't choose which website was the best so I decided to give all...sorry.
The first website is a video on the interior of an animal cell. It's quite interesting-though you won't really know what you're seeing. It proves us how complicated a cell can actually be.^^
The second website provides some information on many organelles in a Prokaryote and Eukaryote cell in a simplified version. But it's not sufficient to give us the answers for the Pre-test.
This third website provides almost all the information we need to know for the test but it's not that easy to understand. Try understanding :)http://micro.magnet.fsu.edu/cells/animalcell.html
Hey 3e6!
Havin' fun? Hope you are:) Okay. This is a website i got from the net! It is called http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cell_(biology). It tells you the detailed structures and functions and well as many others... enjoy learning:):):):):)
